Building Muscle Isn’t Hard…You Just Have To Know What To Eat!
When someone comes to me with a goal of building more muscle, the first question I ask them is: “how much protein are you eating?”
If you ask ten different fitness experts this question, you will usually get ten different answers.
The US Recommended Daily Allowance of protein is ONLY .75 grans of protein per pound of body weight, but that wont nearly be enough to get you fast muscle growth!
For men, I recommend eating 1.25-1.5 grams of protein for every pound you weigh. Meaning if you weigh 200 lbs, you should be taking in 250-300 grams of protein per day if you want to grow the maximum amount of muscle mass.
If you are new to exercising, you should lean toward the 1.25, because your stomach may not be able to digest it all.
A general rule of thumb I use is this: If you notice that you are starting to pass a lot of gas, (and your friends and family are avoiding you)…you are probably overdoing it.
It is important to space out your protein intake over 5-6 meals so that your muscles are constantly absorbing the amino acids being released. Once again, if you eat too much in a meal, those protein grams might not even have a chance to break down much at all. (What a waste!…and once again: you will smell bad
Your protein sources should come from lean cuts of meat: chicken breast, turkey, fish, beef, whey powder, and eggs .
If you are really trying to get buff, red meat (beef, buffalo) is an important food to consume too. Red meat has a ton of iron, which you need to build red blood cells which are essential for getting bigger. But red meat on its own has a lot of fat and cholesterol. To avoid these “down sides” you can also take beef or buffalo liver tablets which are rich with iron and amino acids.
These tips will get you started on the path to getting larger muscles, but if you really want to have a perfect body you should contact me for a free 30-minute consultation. I’ll teach you everything you need to know to achieve the rock hard body you have always wanted!
